Sick and Tired... Guess I'll take some pics

So here I am. It's 11:30pm. I've got a nasty cold. Sneezing, coughing, runny-nose, and I'm tired. But I can't sleep. I went into the bathroom to blow my nose for like the 500th time, and I noticed the lighting was kinda cool.

Side story... the light in my bathroom burned out yesterday. Unfortunately, I can't take off the cover to replace it, because it won't budge. I even had the building manager try it. He's going to call a repair guy, but it's a holiday so no one is working. Anyway, that's why the lighting in my bathroom is lacking.

I decided to take some photos to relieve my boredom and perhaps get rid of restless energy so I could sleep. First I took pictures of the cool light and floor patterns. Then I added some human element... then I started looking around my apartment for inspiration... coke?... okay... so I poured some coca-cola on the floor... which led to a hat... and some light bulbs (that will hopefully someday replace the broken ones in the bathroom light)... and naturally, as everybody knows, light bulbs immediately lead to LIGHTING THINGS ON FIRE.

I soaked the floor in lighter fluid and lit it. The lighter fluid burned so fast I had to use my toes to trigger the camera remote because I was holding the can of lighter fluid in one hand and a lighter in the other. It smelled bad after... but it was fun.

Second side story... Korean bathrooms are made so the entire bathroom can be sprayed down with the shower head. Making cleaning easy... and soggy socks a frequent occurrence.

Here are my pics o'boredom.

Never met someone who can make boredom and sickness look like so much fun.

So your building manager doesn't have access to your blog right? I don't think he'd appreciate you setting things on fire! XD

no, he doesn't have access, plus i don't think he can read much english even if he new. plus, lighter fluid burns so quickly it doesn't leave any burn marks or anything. you can even put some on your hand and light it (though i wouldn't recommend it because there is always that chance something could go wrong).

Again, really nice pictures! Did you take any photography classes?

yes, i took two classes in college. i wanted to learn how to develop film.

but i really learned how to take pictures because that's what my buddy and i would do for fun. we bought these two, cheap digital cameras and took thousands of pictures. i think i have about 40,000 pictures of my four years in college... some pictures taken by me, and others by my various friends.

we were really into documenting every little thing we did.

Wow man. 40,000 is a huge number. So thats probably GBs and GBs of pictures on your computer's hard drive. Make sure you are making back ups on CDs, don't want to lose all that hard work because of some virus or something!

yeah, those pictures are scattered all over cyberspace, friends computers, and random cds... so there are many backups... but i also bought an external hard drive to put them on. i read that cds don't really have a great shelf life... they actually deteriorate fairly fast. it proved to be true when i attempted to use an old cd of those pictures... took my computer a million years to read the cd.

fortunately, we used fairly small file sizes back in the day, so they don't take up too much... several 7-8 gigs i think.
